Pre-Application for Housing Form

Our Mission:

To show God’s love and change lives by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with Washington County’s working families.

Thank you for your interest in being considered for a Washington County Habitat for Humanity home.

Washington County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Housing Ministry. We build simple, decent homes for low-income families with the help of volunteer labor. Families who are chosen help build their house and buy the home at cost with a 0% interest loan.

You do not need to be affiliated with any church or religion to qualify. In order to qualify for a Washington County Habitat for Humanity home, you must meet the following requirements:

1. You must live or work in Washington County, Ohio.
2. You must show need: (current home is overcrowded, unsafe, too costly, etc.)
3. You must show an ability to pay. This includes a reliable source of income and an ability to manage your financial resources wisely.
4. You must show a willingness to partner with Habitat. Partner families are required to provide at least 300 hours of “sweat equity” in the building of the home and/or of other homes. Once selected, it can take 12 months before the house is complete.
5. Your total family income must fall within the guidelines on the chart below:

If you are interested in applying or finding out more about Washington County Habitat for Humanity, please fill out the enclosed pre-application form and return it by mail. If we feel that you meet our guidelines, we will invite you to a required orientation meeting. At that time, you will learn more about Habitat and how you might be able to partner with us. You will be given a complete application at that time. After we receive the completed application, your credit will be checked and a home visit will be scheduled to determine need.
